Alyssa is a hardworking Speech Language Pathologist dedicated to making evaluations and therapy sessions individualized and functional for each unique client.

Alyssa focuses her assessments and treatment plans on individual needs, interests, and experiences.

• How can I help my loved one communicate?
• Why aren’t we seeing progress at home?

Sometimes, there can be a disconnect between the home environment and therapy that happens at school, in a hospital, or an outpatient or private practice setting. This is because it can be hard to carry over skills learned in outside settings back to the home environment - where communication is most important.

That disconnect can cause slower progress, discouragement, concerns for success in social situations, and questioning why progress isn’t being made.

This can be extremely hard for families.

In my practice, I meet families where they are at. I provide services in-home, throughout the community, and online via teletherapy, so that:

1. Therapy is convenient for families
2. All new skills and strategies are being learned right where they are needed most. Families can easily learn my techniques and how to use them to encourage successful communication - not just in the home environment, but wherever they are with their loved one in public, at relatives’ homes, or a friend’s house.

Carryover to the family’s daily lives is so crucial to success in therapy.

When I begin seeing a new family, I provide free initial consultations which are followed by a thorough evaluation of not only the client’s skills, but also their wants, needs, interests and experiences.

I then create an individualized treatment plan incorporating the family’s concerns, their goals, the family’s lifestyle, and the areas of speech and language that need improvement to create a personalized path toward success.

I collaborate with other professionals that the client may already be seeing, so that everyone is on the same page and learns the same strategies that I teach clients and family members.

When families are looking for additional support in implementing therapy strategies throughout everyday activities, I offer family coaching to really guide them in the process of they themselves helping their loved one succeed and reach their speech-language goals.

Family coaching is a service I offer to any family interested in additional guidance, even if their loved one receives therapy elsewhere.

I serve both children and adults who need help with their articulation, language development, Augmentative & Alternative Communication (AAC), executive functioning, cognitive-communication, aphasia and social communication.

I serve Hamilton County with community-based, in-home, and online services, and I can serve all of Indiana with my online services."

Alyssa received her Bachelor's Degree at Purdue University with a major in Speech, Language & Hearing Sciences and minors in Psychology, Management, and Human Development & Family Studies. She then received her Master's Degree from Purdue University's Master of Speech Language Pathology program, and has gained a wide variety of experiences since, ranging from Riley's neurodevelopmental clinic, to adult critical care to home health.

Alyssa believes in individualizing services to each unique client and their family to optimize therapeutic success and improve communication in daily activities.

In her free time, Alyssa enjoys going to the gym, listening to speech-language podcasts, playing with her dog, and spending time with her husband, friends, and family.
